there will be a scheduled outage of blogger at 12, which is in 15 mins. so woopee.

looking for a appropriate breed of cat!

when we move to a bigger house my dad said we could get a cat/dog. now although i love dogs and cats, and personally think dogs are more fun, i think it would be better if i got a cat.

so i googled the cats, and they have breeds like russian BLUE cats. they're like moonlightish blue and have a silvery tinge to their coat. so cool!! but i really want a cat with a tabby coat. an ginger tabby coat. reminds me ah mao/ miaow miaow/ lucy.

haha my old TK house with the stray cat. didn't have a name for it, so when we wanted to call it, just called " MIAOW MIAOW" and she would come running and miaowing coz she knew when we called, we had food for her, or wanted to play with her.

oh she was a beautiful cat. last time when we fed happy she would come running and eat out of his bowl at the same time. happy always looked puzzled as to why this strange creature was sharing food with him, but never chased her away.

actually i think lucy really liked happy, coz she was always sidling up to him and rubbing herself against him, and poking her nose into his face. so damn cute. i think happy just tolerated her. hahah.

but being the kind of girl who prefers to look and commit to memory, instead of run and grab camera, i don't have pictures of them together. when i see a beautiful scene or anything, i stand there and drink it in and the word camera doesn't even pop into my mind. sad, really.

and we had these stone benches in the garden, so on warm sunny days, the stone benches would absorb heat etc and stay warm for a long long time. i would always find lucy curled up or sprawled out on the benches and sleeping happily away. then i would go over and stroke her head or her white flat stomach, and she would open her eyes and look lazily at me, then close them again.

she was also...intimidated by my rabbits? last time we put the rabbits in this big pen made of wire mesh and bricks and glass in the garden. then sometimes i would put lucy in the pen and close the pen door to see what she would do to the rabbits or what the rabbits would do to her.

all my many rabbits would come frolicking up to her, and sniff her curiously, and lucy would go miaow miaow miaow pitifully and run to find a way out, and eventually jump over the wire mesh. quite funny really. the cat afraid of the rabbits.

also had this huge turtle we called wu guai. i dunno why though. we put it together with the rabbits, and it would bask in the sun, or crawl into the one-turtle-sized pond we tried to make by digging a small hole and covering the sides with cement. when we fed the rabbits vege and stuff, it would crawl slowly over and eat with the rabbits. it liked the long beans best.

i remember at night when we had leftover vege to give the rabbits, and to get from the door to the pen, we had to walk under some trees that came from the neighbour's garden. and BATS would come swooping down dangerously close, so we would use and umbrella. imagine walking in the dark with an umbrella when it isn't even raining.

then sometimes ade would come over, and we would take plastic container things and make a "salad" for the rabbits. like there were A LOT of different types of plants, from our own garden, and those that potruded from the neighbours on either sides. so we would pluck pluck pluck, arrange nicely, then put it in the pen, and watch the rabbits destroy our pretty artistic salad.

did i mention that i had chickens before?? i have no idea how we got them, but there were two, one really quite fat, and the other quite skinny, hence the imaginative names, fatty and skinny. we would feed them rice, or buy mealworms from some aquarium, or let them dig worms on their own. my dad sometimes would use the trovel and dig worms for them. like they would stand at the side, and when my dad found a worm, he would pull it out and give it to them.

i tried doing that, but everytime i dug, they came over and pecked me. i was trying to feed them! they're just pecking the hand that feeds them. everynight they would fly up to this huge-ass tree to sleep, so that the stray cats wouldn't get them. oh and lucy co-existed peacefully with them.

it's like she knew, oh they're our pets, they cannot be eaten, so i might as well like them. she still ate lizards and rats and stuff though.

oh and they laid eggs!!! how cool is that! and we actually ate them. AWESOME RIGHT. free eggs. but they were tiny, like as tall as your thumb. but, who cares. then one of them died. i think it was fatty. and skinny had always been the meaner of the two, but after fatty was gone, she like just lost her will to live. she wouldn't eat, and would just sit on top of her eggs(i think she thought they were fertilised eggs) and look sad. but if you tried to take her eggs, man would she get angry and peck like crazy. so to feed her i put worms on a spoon and pushed in down as if it meant to take her eggs, then she would peck the worms and eat them at the same time.

but eventually skinny died. what a tragic love story. ignore the fact that they are both female.

i used to have hamsters, but they died in a terrible way. i think we put them outside in a shaded area(where my washing machine is) and went out. then the SUN CHANGED POSITIONS. and they ended up dying under the sun's merciless glare. when we came home and found them half dead, we quickly shaded them and blew the fan at them, dripped water on them, but they still died...

just a random note, my favourite and first rabbit was snowy. yes, because she was white, hence the creative name. i stress that i was only p4. she was the perfect rabbit!!! when you called she would come and stand on her hind legs to eagerly see who it was. she never bit anyone even when we accidentally hurt her, she was protective of the other rabbits, and she was loving and beautiful and everything you could ask for in a rabbit. then she went to die. i cried and cried, then we put her in a shoe box and put nice stuff in it, then buried her in the garden. we also fashioned a cross out of wooden sticks and stuck it at the head of the grave, and i would occasionally place fresh flowers on the grave. miss her so so much.

but look, my terrapin and turtle. in exactly the same position. they should have an olympic sport called synchronised turtles, and mine would win gold (:

okay i DO have photos of the happy times at my TK house, but it's all in my mum's computer, and i'll have to sift through a MILLION photos. because even if i don't take pictures, my family does.

well goodbye. treat animals very very awesomely and wonderfully nicely.
