so sad, so many earthquakes :(
every time you read the newspaper, all you see are the anguished faces of people plastered all over the pages.
so depressing.
i heard that this school teacher in ..indonesia(i think) got buried in rubble when the school collapsed. but as she fell through the floor, 3 students fell on top of her, so they cushioned the blow from the building collapsing on them.
omg SO sad. imagine you're the teacher, and your students are lying on top of you, and slowly one by one they stop responding to you when you talk to them.
and you know the only reason you're alive and they're dead is because they're on top of you, and teachers are supposed to be the ones protecting the students.
just imagine being stuck there for days with 3 dead students lying on top of you.
it's so..so...i don't know, just so scary.
i'm SO glad singapore isn't in an earthquake zone. or typhoon zone or tsunami zone or whatever.
the only thing that really affects us is global warming.
which is bad enough because we all might die a slow death of being dehydrated.
*shudders* okay okay enough of morbid stuff.
went for the singapore sun festival yesterday!!
thank you, jeanette, for encouraging me to go, because it was truly great.
i loved it very much.
even my dad didn't doze off like he did when we went to some orchestra concert.
and i was sitting SO CLOSE. i could totally see the muscles in the ballerina's leg trembling when he/she went on pointe or lifted his/her leg.
it was just so amazing! every ballerina had his/her own good points.
one managed to keep her leg at a perfect 90 degree angle without her leg wavering at all.
and a few had little solo bits, where they pirouetted for at least 30 secs straight.
there was this lady, she was so damn flexible, she bent forward and backward like it was nothing. she bent so far back her head almost touched her buttocks.
and the costumes. do you call them costumes?
my favourite was this black, clingy skirt that fell to the feet, with a black and gold top. and the lighting during that performance was so great. they darkened the whole concert hall, and she danced in a single spotlight.
another was VERY impressive. white top, nothing special, but the skirt was amazing! it was the clingy material, but it was so so so so long.
omg see!!
i thought it would be difficult to dance in but she carried off very nicely.
and HAHA some were hilarious really. one couple dressed like.. like aladdin, with the sequined bikini top and layered pants, with head gear stuff.
another guy wore some red indian thingy. topless, turquoise pants, and a headband thing with an enormous feather sticking out.
and omg. pg16. one guy wore boxers. seriously, just white boxers, very short and very tight.
i think i like clingy skirts best, because the fly out ever so nicely behind the dancer.not those tutus which look like umbrellas flapping in the wind.
we-ell now, i have to go. farmville's waiting :D
